Forças de ocupação israelenses prendem 32 ativistas internacionais durante a campanha “Olive 2025”

Hoje, forças de ocupação de israel prenderam 32 ativistas internacionais e locais enquanto ajudavam agricultores palestinos nas áreas de Huwara e Burin, ao sul de Nablus.

As detenções vieram depois que as forças declararam as áreas uma “zona militar fechada”, e os detidos foram levados para a delegacia de Ariel, localizada no assentamento Ariel construído em terras palestinas.

Exército de ocupação israelita impediu os camponeses e ativistas solidários de acessar as terras agrícolas atirando latas de gás lacrimogêneo diretamente contra eles. Enquanto os palestinos e seus apoiadores estavam recuando, 15 colonos mascarados os atacaram.

Dois homens sofreram ferimentos leves, um na cabeça, e uma mulher sufocou devido a gás lacrimogêneo. Um autocarro foi danificado durante o ataque.

Além disso, 32 ativistas internacionais e locais foram presos durante a colheita em Burin.

Wednesday 15 October, Nazla al-Sharqiya, #tulkarm — at around 10.15am a large convoy of Palestinian men and women from across the West Bank, together with international activists gathered at a Palestinian olive grove to support the Zaytoun 2025 olive harvest campaign.

The grove has an illegal Israeli outpost, set up during the escalation of the Gaza genocide in 2023, right beside it. Israeli soldiers have been there everyday to prevent Palestinian farmers from harvesting their olives.

Before they could begin harvesting the Border Police fired multiple tear gas canisters from the top of the hill. Activists attempted to continue with the harvest, but the Israeli army callously fired tear gas into the grove and fly their drones overhead.

Two women were injured by the tear gas and had to be taken away by ambulances and hospitalised and multiple people had to be helped by members of the Palestinian Red Crescent.

The Israeli army remained on the hill above the olive grove, aggressively shouting and denying people their right to work their land.

Despite seeing that the tear gas was causing fires in the fields, the army continued to rain down tear gas on activists who were trying to put them out.

One Palestinian activist stated that the activists for Zaytoun 2025 are “like our flotilla” to break the occupation’s control over Palestine’s olives.
